Balayage at our salon on Alton Road starts at $585, and most people land close to it. Here is what moves the number, and how to find out yours before anything is booked.
Balayage at Hair Shak Salon Miami starts at $585. That is hand-painted balayage on a full head, done start to finish by Shak at 300 Alton Road in South Beach, and it takes two and a half to three hours. Most people pay close to that. Some pay more, and the reasons are not a mystery.
The first thing is how much hair you have. Long, thick hair takes more lightener, more sections and more time than a shoulder-length bob, and the price follows the time.
The second is what is already on your hair. Old box dye, highlights from a salon two years ago, a gloss that went brassy: each of these changes how the lightener behaves, and sometimes that means an extra step. If you are going from black to brown, we do a test strand first so nobody is guessing.
The third is how far you want to go in one visit. Very dark hair to platinum in a single appointment is something we don't do, because the hair usually pays for it. If that is where you want to end up, Shak will tell you how many visits it takes and what each one costs.
If balayage is more than you want to spend right now, these are the other options on our menu. All of them are starting prices.
| Service | From |
|---|---|
| Balayage | $585 |
| Ombre | $500 |
| Full head highlights | $500 |
| Half head highlights | $395 |
| Partial highlights | $249 |
| Single process color | $130 |
| Gloss | $78 |
| Corrective color | Priced at the consultation |
Partial highlights cost less than half of a full balayage and can be a good place to start. A gloss between appointments keeps the tone from turning yellow, which we cover in a separate post.
Foils grow out with a visible line, and they usually need a touch-up every couple of months. Balayage is painted so it starts where your own hair starts, and the root grows out soft. There is no fixed date forcing you back, which is worth counting when you compare one price with another.
How long yours holds up depends on your hair, how often you wash it, and how much sun and pool time it gets. In Miami that last part matters more than most people expect.
A price over the phone is a guess. The consultation is free: you sit down, Shak looks at your hair and at what has been done to it, and you get the figure before anything is booked. There is one stylist here, so the person who quotes you is the person who does the work.
Call +1 305-494-7128, or leave your details on the balayage page and we call you back. We're open Sunday to Thursday from 10am to 6pm and Friday from 10am to 2pm. Parking at 300 Alton Road is free for salon clients.
